In order to gather a large fan base and to marget their music a band has to be around and get known, this is done throught differnt gigs, special signings.

Music Video Analysis
As research towards my project we had to View and analyse two music videos commenting on the timing, camera angels/shots, themes, mis-en-scene etc. This was interesting because it gave me a greater understanding of how i needed to film my video, how i would have to take into concideration the setting, clothing of people in my video, the lighting and camera shots i would use to make impact.

Brief and Synopsis
Brief
A promotion package for the release of an album, to include a music promo video, together with two of the following three options:
A website homepage for the band;
A cover for its release as part of a digipak (CD/DVD package)
A magazine advertisement for the digipak (CD/DVD package)
My Synopsis
As part of my A2 Media studies course I have had to put together a music video promo. Along with this I have had to include the planning, designing and ideas that go towards creating my video. I have chosen to create a video to the song of ‘First love’ by The Maccabees.
The Maccabees are a band made up of five boys, their music has a certain tone to it which works well with the idea I intend to create.
My video does not have a particular storyline like the typical music video, instead I have based an idea around a lot of shots and clips that fit with the lyrics of the song. The main theme running thought my video will be love and how love still exists till your very last days. I have included a scene which has intertextual reference to that of ‘When Harry met Sally’, this is because it fits in very well with my idea. I have included the scene where the elderly couples sit on the sofa and talk about their love for eachother. For this I used a real life couple and the setting and age of the couple are both the same as that in the film.
I filmed a group of boys who are seen as the band, their image goes well with the style of voice the band have. I also included scenes where the camera was set to black and white to suit the style of music. I was constantly aware of the clothing in which the the band and other characters within my film were dressed. As this very much platys towards the theme of my music promo
This style of Indie music has become very popular among the age group of 15-25 year olds with its quirky, intelligent lyrics it provides an easy listen with repetitive, but fun lyrics to sing along to. As this is the style of music I prefer I decided it would be a good choice as I would enjoy creating it and would come out with a good final product.
MY digipak would have a similar theme to that of my film, I wanted it to look dated, with a vintage/old fashioned style to it.
